Biography
Gela Kesidi was born in 1959 in Tbilisi. In 1973-1977, he studied sculptor at Mose Toidze Art School of Tbilisi. In 1983-1989, he studied sculpture with the Faculty at Tbilisi State Academy of Art. Since 1992, he has lived and works in Greece. Since 2003, he has taught sculpture in Cordellio Municipally, Thessaloniki. He has participated in different solo and group exhibitions: Strahovskeno Monastery, Prague, Czechia, 2007; Muenchner Kuestlerhaus, Munich, Germany, 2005; Gallery Rarity, Greece, 2004; Thessaloniki Archeological Museum, Greece, 2003; He has participated in many international exhibitions, biennales and sculpture symposiums. His work has been exhibited in many countries: Germany, Turkey, Greece, Japan, Italy, Russia, Holland...and in many private collections. The popularization of Georgian art and the development of Georgian-Greek cultural relations are quite important in his art. He is the initiator of International Sculptor Symposiums in Cavalla 1999; Drama 2000, 2001, 2002; Thessaloniki 1999, 2003.
