Biography

David Chichua was born in 1967 in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 1982-1085 he studied at Mose Toidze Art School and in 1988-1993 with the Industrial Design Faculty at Tbilisi State Academy of Art. In 1992-1995, Chichua and fellow artists led the Monumental Ceramcs Design Studio. In 1993 he participated in his first exhibition of painting in Antalia, Turkey. Since 1995 he has lived in Holland. David works in painting. He participates regularly in exhibitions and art fairs (2004 Rotterdam – Ahoy; 2005 Zevenbergen – Quatre Saisons; 2007 Karvasla, Tbilisi). Since 2009, he has managed his private school of painting at Zevenbergen and he has taught religious paiting at Free University of Amsterdam. Several times a year he arranges exhibitions and workshops.
