Biography
Nana Bagdavadze has B.A. from Nicoladze Art College and MFA in painting and pedagogy from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tbilisi, Georgia. She studied courses at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg and for 7 years in music school piano department.
Nana has been exhibiting in the US and Europe for over 25 years. Her works are in numerous permanent and private collections throughout the world including NASA Goddard Flight Center, MD, University of Kansas, MO, Swedish Cancer Institute and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, WA, National Library of Georgia, Tbilisi, Georgia, National Institute of Municipal Law Officers, Washington, D.C., Government Center in Salem, OR, and private collections in the US and in Europe.
Nana was a professor of Painting in the Academy of Fine Arts in Tbilisi, Georgia, adjunct faculty at the Seattle Pacific University. She taught painting at the Pratt Fine Arts Center, Kirkland Art Center, Bellevue Art Museum, Seattle Art Museum, University of Washington, Experimental College, and workshops in France. Currently, Nana teaches summer painting workshops at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, and works on ongoing projects and portrait commissions.
She was granted permanent residency in 1994 based on “Outstanding Artist” category and became US citizen in 1999. Nana works and resides in Washington DC, USA.
