Biography
Tamar Khundadze (Tamara K.E. ) was born in 1971 in Tbilisi. She moved to study and to live in Germany in 1991. Tamar graduated Art academies in Munich and Dusseldorf. Nowadays she lives and works in Dusseldorf.
Tamar Khundadze is well known as Tamara K.E. in artistic circles. Her personal shows were organized in Ostwald Dortmund Museum, Whitechapel Gallery London, Ostwall Dortmund Museum, Whitechapel Gallery London, Sprengel Museum Hannover.
After graduating university Tamar together with Thea Gvetadze she presented Georgia at Venice 50th Biennial. Artists had presented large scale installations in Georgian Pavilion. That project was exhibited at old academy “Ateneo Veneto” in Venice, where Tintoretto’s frescoes are preserved. Same time Tamara was invited at the first Prague Biennial.
Tamar Khundadze was awarded with numerous prizes such as Kunstpreis der Deutschen Volks- und Raiffeisenbanken, UBS Bank Art Award for Young Art, Europan Prize for Painting.
