The project Integration and Identity was implemented by the research group members: Mzia Chikhradze, Ketevan Shavgulidze, Mariam Shergelashvili, Marita Sakhltkhutsishvili and Lana Karaia. The group was created within the Institute of Art History and Theory of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, all researchers had an academic affiliation.

Principal investigator

Mzia Chikhradze  - Doctor of Art History and Theory, visiting professor at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Senior Research Fellow at G. Chubinashvili National Center for the Research of Georgian Art History and Monuments Protection. She is an adjunct professor at Free University. Mzia Chikhradze works on the topics of history and theory of modern and contemporary art. She is engaged in active scholarly and pedagogic activities. She is an author of several research projects, scholarly works, monographs and books on the issues of twentieth century and contemporary art.

Project coordinator

Lana Karaia - Master of Arts; PhD student at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. She works in the Georgian National Museum and Georgian Museums Association. Karaia delivers lectures at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University as a visiting lecturer. Karaia works on contemporary art and museum study issues. She is the coordinator/researcher of two scholarly projects, author of several research articles, and co-author of publications on museum studies.

Researchers:

Ketevan Shavgulidze - Doctor of Art History and Theory, visiting professor at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University; She is an Associate Professor of Grigol Robakidze University; visiting Professor at A. Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and Free University. Shavgulidze is engaged in active research and pedagogic activities; she works on the issues of contemporary Georgian and world art. She is the author of research works, monographs and text books.

Mariam Shergelashvili - Master of Arts, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. She works as a curator at State Silk Museum. Shergelashvili is the author and co-author of several research works and articles about contemporary art, as well as a leader of several projects.

Marita Sakhltkhutsishvili - Master of Arts, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Sakhltkhutsishvili works as the coordinator of Cultural Heritage Programs at the Georgian Arts and Culture Center. She leads the authorship rubric Georgian Monuments in the scientific journal - Istoriani. Sakhltkhutsishvili works on contemporary art and museum issues. She is the coordinator/researcher of three scientific projects, and the author and co-author of several articles.
