Biography

Tsira Akhobadze is a Georgian artist living in New York City. Her captivating landscape paintings have enchanted collectors in Europe and America for many years; they can be interminably happy, or boundlessly sad, but always incite. Tsira’s art captures both the energy and angst of the émigré’ experience, a particularly timely topic today.

In the New York metropolitan area, Tsira Akhobadze (pronounced Zeera) has exhibited at Susan Eley Fine Art, the Ammanuel Fremin Gallery, the Artifact Gallery, The World Trade Gallery, the International Contemporary Art Fair (Saratoga Springs), ARTEXPO  and the Warel-Nase Gallery (Jersey City).

Tsira has also had innumerable solo and group shows in her native Georgia.  A few of these are: Gallery Karvsela, Tbilisi, The Blue Gallery, Tbilisi, The Exhibition Hall of the Rustaveli Society.

Tsira initially attended the Kutiasi Institute of Art and later graduated from the Tbilisi Institute of Fine Art, the most renown art school in the greater Caucuses, encompassing Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, southern Russia and southeastern Turkey.  From 2000 to 2002 Trisa was a lecturer in painting and composition at the Alexandre Shervashidze Art School in Tbilisi, Georgia. She brings the unique sensibility of Caucuses to the New York art scene which she joined in 2002 when she moved to New York.  Enhance your collection with one of Tsira’s watercolours, prints, sketches, or photographs.  Tsira is also an experienced instructor in painting and sketching and is available for lessons and private tutorials.
