Biography
Anna Edzgveradze (pseudonym Anna K.E.) was born in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1986. In Tbilisi she studied at V. Chabukiani Ballet School. In 2000 Anna moved to Germany.
In 2010 Anna has graduated the Dusseldorf Academy where she studied in the classes of Georg Herold and Christopher Williams. Now she lives and works in between of Dusseldorf and New York.
Anna’s works have been shown in the following exhibitions: BodyLight, Julia Stoschek Collection Dusseldorf; Leave Your Hat On, Von Beuys Inspiriert, Schmela Haus, Museum K21, Dusseldorf; Queens International 2013, Queens Museum, New York; Vom Zaudern: Motive des Aufschubs, Übergangs und Abschweifens, Württembergischer Kunstverein, Stuttgart; 1. Pers. Sing., b-05, Montabaur; Qui vive?, III Moscow International Biennale for Young Art; Kunstpreis Junger Westen 2011, Kunsthalle Recklinghausen. In 2012 the artist was the recipient of the Dr. Herbert Zapp - Preis für Junge Kunst-award and her works have been shown in the exhibition Anna K.E. - He was hit by a car, can she still dance? in the Mannheimer Kunstverein.
Anna works in the fields of drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, video and sound. Her site-specific installations incorporated also performative elements of their afterthoughts and remnants. Moving freely between the different languages of architecture, design and art, her interest lies in the analysis and overcoming of existing and self-made cultural, social and artistic structures
